Review:
After the circumstances in book one, Damon goes off into the deep end. Having tried to end it all, the guilt and the heartache, Damon has completely checked out. What he went through is not an easy thing to come back from... and Damon has to find a reason.
A reason like Jo. Consumed by guilt, Jo is hurting too. She's lost and floundering and doesn't know how to deal with Damon. She's in love with a man who's withdrawn into himself and she spends her days trying to reach him. Jo finds herself giving in to him and his every whim. Trying to show him love, even when he doesn't show it back. And when playing nice doesn't work, she gets rough. Dishes out some tough love.
Damon and Jo have gone through hell. Both of them have suffered, time and time again in their lives. Fate has proven to be a bitch. But, at least, in intertwining Damon and Jo's lives, fate got it right. These two are meant to be. If anyone can handle Jo and her potty mouth, it's Damon. And if anyone handle Damon and his controlling ways, it's Jo. These two are survivors and I loved them to pieces.
And while those two try to pick up and work it all out, life continues to move on. Things are happening with his Damon's sister Elise. And there is some drama with his dad, Edward. As well as some big things going on with Noni and Grams. Drama swirls around Damon and Jo, unfortunately for them.
Thank goodness this installment doesn't have quite the cliffhanger that Wreck Me did, but there is one (or, really, two) heck of a whopper dropped on us at the end. It's a game changer but isn't the oh-my-effing-jeebus-no-no-no that we got in the first book.
Restore Me in one word? Emotional. The things Damon and Jo go through are depressing and heartwarming. And made me love them even more. Jo and her dirty mouth had me laughing, sometimes when I probably shouldn't have. I loved the vulnerable side of Damon we got to see in this book too. Like most men, it made him a bit grumpy and a lot dominating... which turned out to be both hot and sad. I don't know how Miz Mac does it but it seems like every emotion I had was conflicting. I can't wait to see what's next for Damon and Jo!

I've heard the saying "All out of tears" before, but I just assumed that it was another one of those stupid adages that people insist on overusing. Serious as a heart attack; the apple never falls far from the tree; what goes around comes around, and all those other bullshit things I usually tune out. Actually, I think I tune out nearly everything that others say. I consider it a gift....
"Let's get going. No use in putting it off. You gotta do what you gotta do, right?" I ask the dog, cringing when I hear the stupid adage sail out of my mouth. Stupid fucking adages.
