Review:

Undeniable is an edgy, raunchy, shocking, frustrating, intense, dark, repulsive, and extremely emotional story. It's all kinds of wrong yet I could not put it down. Madeline Sheehan did not pull any punches. I was pushed so far out of my comfort zone, I was left completely and utterly speechless when I finished the book. This story is like reading Sons of Anarchy (the television show) on steroids. And, if you've seen the show, you would know that is a pretty intense description of this book. This story grabbed me by the throat on page one and didn't let me go until the last page. Oddly, as effed up as this book is, I can honestly say I'm a fan of the tangle web of craziness Sheehan has created.

"Never forget the day she came bouncin' into my fucked up life, shakin' pigtails, singin' Janis, wearin’ chucks and sharin' peanuts and straight up stole any decency I had left which wasn't a whole lot but she fuckin' took it and I've been hers ever since."

This is Deuce and Eva's story, which is told over several years. They first meet while visiting their fathers in prison. Eva is 5 and Deuce is 23. From the moment they meet, Eva stole Deuce’s heart with her sweet honesty, pig tails, bad singing, and pink Converse. Deuce’s father soon dies after this visit, which makes Deuce the president of his Motorcycle Club - the rival MC to Eva's fathers. These two see each sporadically over the years, in which they form a connection. A connection that grows stronger, more passionate as time goes by.

The year Eva is 16, and Deuce is 34, they see each other at a MC gathering, where the spark that has always been there grows more intense. And, when they think no one is looking, they have a very intense make-out session. Yes, this is very wrong, I know! However, Deuce does get control of himself, and backs off, before he takes Eva's virginity up against a wall. But they are seen by Eva's father, Preacher. Preacher loves his daughter and there is no limit to what he would do for her. Which means when Deuce is caught with Eva, Deuce is lucky to be left alive with only a warning to stay away from Eva.

Two years later, Eva, who is now 18, runs into Deuce at a club. Deuce knows he should stay far, far away from Eva, but he is no saint. Eva is no saint either. The sexual tension that has been building for years finally erupts with Eva and Deuce in a back alley. After this encounter, they don't see each other again for four years. Eva talks her best friend Kami into a road trip, to go see Deuce where he lives, and with the hope to start things back up with him again. This road trip turns out to be a trip Eva will never forget.

Eva and Deuce were both born in to this life where you must be strong, tough, and slightly crazy to survive. The Silver Demon's and The Hell's Horsemen are the two main motorcycle clubs. Eva is the Princess of The Silver Demon's and Deuce is the King of The Hell's Horsemen. Violence is a way of life. They live by their own rules. Morals and ethics are hardly questioned. They run guns and drugs. The bikers are testosterone overloaded, bad-ass thugs. Their wives are called old ladies and the mistresses are called bitches. And, as screwed up as it may sound, they are family and loyal (somewhat) to the members in their gangs.

Even with the age difference, I knew right away Eva and Deuce were meant to be together. I do have my limits, though. So I'm glad the author waited until Eva was at least 18 before she lost her virginity to Deuce. My feelings for Deuce ranged between hot and cold. I hated him one moment. But then, the next moment, I would love that crazy, motorcycle riding, tattooed, sexy man. I know, I'm seriously messed up for loving that man. Especially since Deuce is a complete jerk to Eva for most of the book. Some of the things he does gave me pause as to why I would even be rooting for this couple. But, as the story is told, you realize that this couple does not live in a normal, average world where things are simple. There is no white picket fence with 2.5 kids. Their world is ugly, crazy, messed the FK up. Which means things between Eva and Deuce are far from simple. They have a lot to overcome before they can be together.

Poor Eva goes through so much in this book. She starts out strong. Not wanting to be like the other women, the old ladies or the bitches, she is raised around. But she is eventually broken down. Becomes someone else. It was hard to watch her life fall apart. I went through many emotions with Eva. I wanted to hug, shake, and yell at her. Such a gut wrenching story to watch Eva become the person she never wanted to become. Eva is a survivor, though. The things that happen to her, most people would've given up on life. But Eva doesn't. She pushes forward and fights. And, when things get real bad, Deuce is there to pick up her pieces.

This story is not your average, every day love story. It's disturbing, twisted, raw, and gritty. It is full of flawed characters. Some more insane than others. I had quite a few moments where I honestly didn't know if I could go on. But, underneath all the darkness, there is a love story, and you know that at some point these broken characters will eventually make it through all the crap life keeps throwing at them, and find their way back to each other.

“Whatever this shit is between us it’s always been there and it’s always gonna be there. I’m shit-fuckin’-tired tryin’ to ignore it. I’ll try to do right by you Eva, you’d be the first, but I’ll fuckin’ try my damndest. And baby, true freedom is the open road, the wind on your face and a good woman on the back of your bike holdin’ you tight like you’re her reason for breathin’ because she sure as fuck is yours.”

This story is not for everyone. There is a lot of profanity (especially the word fuck), cheating, and violence. With that said, do I recommend this book? Yes, but I recommend previewing the book first. I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book.
