Heroine: Brenna – Abused, Returning Home
Hero: Dragon – MC Member, Tattooed & Bearded
When Brenna left home five years ago, she thought she was leaving the violence behind. Instead, she went from MC Princess to a battered wife. After years of being walked on and pushed around, Brenna finds the strength to leave for her daughter Trix. And, in order to do that, she has to return home. To the place, and man, she ran from years ago—The Aces Motorcycle Club.
But going home isn't easy. Especially not when you left without a word, never calling or visiting. Nothing. In a tight knit community like the Aces MC, trust is earned. Brenna lost that. At the same time, her pops and her godfather—the MC’s President—aren't about to turn her away. They see the bruises. They know what was going on. But Brenna only gets one chance. If she runs again, it’s over. Though having Dragon back in her life makes her want to stay put. Forever, if possible. One night five years ago changed everything. And, once Dragon finds out just how much things changed, there is no way he's letting her go. She’s his whether she likes it or not. Thankfully, she really really likes it.
“I knew what I needed to know. We were his. It was as terrifying and simple as that.” - Brenna
And who wouldn’t? Dragon is the epitome of dominant and protective. He’s also blunt, loyal, and, most importantly of all, faithful. He is and isn’t what you’d expect from a man in a motorcycle gang. He’s gruff and rough around the edges, he cusses and has tattoos and a sexy beard, he’s built like a brick house, and he plays—and loves—hard… but he’s also smart and surprisingly tender hearted. The things that come out of his mouth cut straight through your heart. He either melts your panties or makes you bawl your eyes out. But even when he’s being hurtful, you feel for him because of the things Brenna hid for so long.
“Yeah, okay, Brenna. You wanna pretend like you and me aren’t what we are, that’s fine. I’m not gonna pretend. I’m not takin’ your bullshit either. Baby, I’ve been waitin’ five years for you. That shit’s never gone away. So, you can bitch and moan and make your own life miserable, or you can suck it the fuck up and get on the same page with me. I’m not goin’ anywhere.” - Dragon
Brenna and Dragon have a lot on their plates. A lot of things to air out and get past before they can get their happily ever after. Because, oh, there is trouble in paradise. Big, big trouble. Her ex, that sociopathic asshole, just won't let her go. He is effed up. The things he did, the things he said… no wonder Brenna lost her sense of self. Dragon has to help her rediscover who she is—as a person, as a woman, as a sexual being. And he is more than willing to help with the last one, which helps with the others too. There is a very soul bearing scene between them that involves stretch marks and sweet kisses and, oh, it made me swoon. The things Dragon says… Sigh.
Craving Constellations is a dark and gritty biker romance—no doubt about that—but there is also an underlying beauty. It made me feel things on an incredibly deep level and I invested in Brenna and Dragon completely. What they go through rips your heart out and, slowly, puts it back together with every word and touch they share. And the touches they share—wow. Dragon, he is fiery hot between the sheets. Oh, what I wouldn’t give to feel his beard leaving a burn on my neck! *shudders* I’m anxiously awaiting the next book, that’s for sure. I can’t wait to see where Nicole Jacquelyn takes us next with her sexy Aces!
