Review:
Remington. Oh, my primal, sexy beast of a man, Remington. How I have longed to be inside your head with all those thoughts and feelings. And the smelling and the touching and the super hot alpha tendencies. I wanted so much to get to know the you that has been locked away and hidden behind blue and black. Considering you are the heart and soul of this series to me, to say that I wanted this book is a severe understatement!
Remy is told in both past and present, the present of which takes place after the end of Mine. While I loved the parts set in the present, after a while the past scenes felt... redundant. I wanted to see or experience a side to those scenes I hadn't before. Really get in Remy’s head and feel him while he's black. On that aspect, it didn't live up to my expectations. I did love all of the present scenes though. It felt like the perfect epilogue, in Remy's own words.
While getting inside Remy's head was great, in the end, a lot of this novella didn't feel like it added to the series. I needed more. Something fresh instead of retold. I struggled to finish this, especially when we got to the scenes from Mine. I had just read Mine a week before, so it was fresh in my mind, and those scenes felt too much like a reread. I would’ve – could’ve – loved this book if it had been infused with more new scenes. New characters. New problems. Something.
