Synopsis:

Review:

Alex, recently divorced, has been suffering from a bit of a dry spell… for more than a year. That is, until he wakes up, hung-over, with no memory, and an open condom wrapper on his nightstand. The light floral scent on his pillow and a busty bra are the only clues as to who the mystery woman is.

Unfortunately for Violet, newest employee of Alex and his brothers, she remembers it all clearly. Every. Sexy. Moment. And, with her track record of bad decisions, is happy Alex doesn't seem to remember. Until, with one whiff of her perfume, he knows.

Alex wants Violet, and Violet wants Alex... But he's divorced, on the rebound, and her boss. Which seems to make them want each other more. Lots of work place naughty times happen because these two just can't seem to keep their hands to themselves. I would’ve liked a bit less of the back and forth will-they-or-won’t-they though. It felt a little drawn out for such a short novella.

I also loved that Violet wasn’t Alex’s usual type of woman, or typical heroine either—she’s curvy and she dresses like a pin-up bombshell. And you can bet that Alex is more than capable of handling all her lovely womanly curves. Heart’s a Mess was a fast read that's light and dirty. Not too dirty though, as the steam factor is more Hot than Sizzling, but I did enjoy it.
