Ten Book Boyfriends Paula & Letitia Are Thankful For...

If you celebrate—then Happy Thanksgiving! If you don’t, then (hopefully)—Happy Day Off from Work!

In the traditional custom of sharing what we’re thankful for at this time of year, Paula and I have compiled a list of ten book boyfriends we’re most thankful for (from books released in 2012)! In no particular order, as we don’t play favorites with our favorites… *wink*

Letitia: I’ll start with Jackson Deveaux, since he’s the youngest on this list (but still legal!). He may be rough around the edges and more than a little bit crass, but he’s still the Cajun I’m ragin’ for!

He was staring at my lips, and before I could think better of it, I'd wetted them.

"That's it, bébé," he said in a coaxing rasp. "Ma bonne fille." My good girl.

He wrapped one of his arms behind my back, cupping my chin with his free hand.

"Evangeline, I'm goan to kiss you until your toes curl, until we're breathing for each other."

- Kresley Cole, Poison Princess
(Review!)

“Barrons breaks heads. Ryodan turns them inside out. Barrons fucks you up. Ryodan makes you fuck yourself up. He pushes buttons and rearranges things according to his own private, coolly sociopathic plan.”

- Karen Marie Moning, ICED

Letitia: Next on my list is Alistair Caulfield. A man who has carnality in his very bones. He pretty much oozes sex from his pores—the man is all things virile.

“If I could,” he went on, “I would remain like this indefinitely—clasped by you, held inside you, a part of you—without moving at all. When we make love, I fight climax with everything I have. I don’t want to come; I do not want it to end. No matter how long I make it last, it isn’t nearly long enough. I am furious when I cannot hold back any longer. Why, Jess? If all I seek is the physical relief of natural lust, just as I would seek sleep or food, why would I deny myself?”

She turned her head and caught his mouth with hers, kissing him desperately.

“Tell me you understand,” he demanded, his lips moving beneath hers. “Tell me you feel it, too.”

- Sylvia Day, Seven Years to Sin
(Review!)

© Fenias | Stock Free Images & Dreamstime Stock PhotosPaula: Reyes Farrow. Dark, mysterious, and dangerously sexy…he's the son of Satan and I don't care. I crave page time with Reyes and when he walks on to the pages, my heart rate speeds up.

“There is a fine line between love and hate, or haven't you heard? Sometimes it's hard to decipher exactly which emotion is strongest."

I raised my chin. "I don't love you either."

He lowered his head and watched me from underneath his dark lashes. "Are you certain? Because the emotion pouring out of you every time I'm near you is certainly not disinterest."

"That doesn't mean it's love."

"It could be, I promise you. Take off that sweater and give me ten minutes, and you'll believe beyond a shadow of a doubt you're in love.”

- Darynda Jones, Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet

Letitia: My next pick may be a man of few words, but he still manages to melt your heart. Corporal Samuel Thorne is brave and honorable and chivalrous. What more could a girl want?

“Katie.” He groaned. “I burn for you.”

Just a few husky words, but coming from a man so taciturn, she thought they must equal poetry.

I burn for you.

So hot, those words. So dangerous. Their effect was incendiary.

- Tessa Dare, A Lady by Midnight
(Review!)

Paula: Caleb. You will love and hate him at the same time. You know from the beginning, he's ruthless and cold but you can't help but empathize with him. And in the end, he stole my heart.

She kissed my scars, and I made new ones for her.

- C.J. Roberts, Seduced in the Dark
(Review!)

Letitia: I’m going to go with Lothaire next because he is... bad. In a very good way. The whole time you know, very clearly, that he is an evil vampire. And it makes you feel a tiny bit depraved because you can't help but like it.

“Lothaire, stop teasin’ me!”

“Tease?” His cock was throbbing. Already, he felt the beginning tremors. “It’s the least I can do since you’re about to make me come on my carpet.”

Panting, she leaned up on her elbows, her eyes wide. “Are you about to—“

Another curl of his finger had her collapsing back with a strangled cry, her knees falling wide.

- Kresley Cole, Lothaire

© Lisja | Stock Free Images & Dreamstime Stock PhotosPaula: Braden Carmichael. This sexy, charming Scot does funny things to my libido. I love his one word answer: BABE. It makes my insides tingly. But what really gets me all hot and bothered, the man likes to cuddle!

He studied me intently for a moment and then lowered his head until his lips were almost touching mine. “We fuck, we have fun, and then we spoon. I don’t go home. I don’t go home because sometimes in the middle of the night I wake up, and when I wake up, I want to fuck. And for some baffling reason, the person I want to fuck is you. Now, I’m only going to say this once more time. Go to sleep.

- Samantha Young, On Dublin Street
(
Review!)

Letitia: Last, but certainly not least, is Soren Stearns. He is dark and scary and sexy as hell. His presence on the page is simply awing...

“You are my heart,” he said. He’d said those very words to her that morning. But that morning, they’d sounded affectionate and playful. Now he said them as if he were stating a fact of anatomy. “I will not lose you. I’m sending you away to keep you safe. Do you understand? Say ‘Yes, sir.’”

Nora nodded and swallowed a sudden lump in her throat. ”Yes, sir.”

Soren bent his head and kissed her long and slow before pulling back.

- Tiffany Reisz, The Angel
(Review!)

© Postnikov | Stock Free Images & Dreamstime Stock PhotosPaula: Seth Warren. The man is sex on a stick. His tattoos, dirty sultry words, and down below piercing flips my switch. The man must have stamina for a super power because he’s insatiable.

“You’ve been fucked before, huh?” he asked, angling her so that his piercing slid over her G-spot when he entered. “By the time I’m done, you’ll have reassessed your definition.”

- Cherrie Lynn, Leave Me Breathless
(Review!)

  1. Points for Reyes, but WHERE are Acheron and the early Dark-Hunters as well as the delicious men in Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress world??? Many women would LOVE to call Bones their own!

    1. We were picking from 2012 releases only! Maybe we should've clarified that! :-) But, oh yes, I'd claim Bones. Chp 32 is infamous for a reason! I've never read Sherrilyn Kenyon though... But I've seen A heron's name many times. Have to check it out.
