Review:

Erotica plus horror? I can honestly say that I never would’ve thought to combine the two genres, but I’m really glad that Miz Brennan did! Blood and Fire was unlike anything I’ve read before in a very, very good way.

When the story opens, Francesca Morgan aka Frankie, is getting ready for a date with Kevin. A date to a party where wearing a teddy and thigh high leather boots is not only appropriate but pretty much required attire. Kevin, a Dom Frankie has been serving for months now, is taking her to her first fetish party. Which in this case translates to free-for-all sex where all sorts of fetishes and kinks are openly embraced. And I do mean all.

While there, Frankie catches the eye of Bart, who is also a Dom and a man that Kevin would like to impress. A man that is seductive and powerful and calls to Frankie like no one ever has. With Kevin’s blessing, Bart borrows her for the night. But all is not what it seems...

Blood and Fire explores a different take on BDSM. A look at the possible origins of it. I can’t say much more than that, but it was inventive and imaginative and... fitting. I loved that the story moves at a very fast pace. Almost dreamlike, because it never stops and focuses. It flits from one scene to the next, dragging the reader along for the ride.

The twist at the end is my favorite part. How could it not be? It was very creative and handled in a visually interesting way. Really sparked my imagination. I hope this isn’t the last we see of Frankie and Bart. The end left me wanting more.
