Review: The Theory of Attraction by Delphine Dryden

The Theory of Attraction (The Science of Temptation #1) by Delphine Dryden

Rating: B
Heat: Hot

Heroine: Camilla Novak – Neighbor, Semi-Stalker
Hero: Ivan Reynolds – Brilliant, Nerd

Ivan Reynolds is a nerd with a brilliant mind. And he’s utterly clueless when it comes to behavior and social issues. Add it all up and that makes him awkwardly endearing. He doesn't seem to truly know how to flirt or charm, which makes it all the more special and charming when he accidentally does.

Camilla Novak, Ivan’s neighbor and sometimes stalker, has had a crush on him for more than a year. And she’s not convinced he even realizes she's female. But she definitely realizes the hunky hunky nerd is a man. When Ivan asks Camilla to teach him how to socialize for an upcoming work event, Cami can't help jumping at the chance to spend time with Ivan.

And what starts out as awkward and stilted between them, quickly becomes heated and naughty. Because Ivan is a wolf in sheep's clothing. A sexy, nerdy dominant who wants very much to control Camilla in bed. Ivan quickly becomes Camilla's teacher in all things sensual.

I enjoyed the pacing throughout this story. It sped along nicely for a novella. Never in a rush but not bogged down with filler scenes either. That combined with the humor woven in, not to mention the sexual tension, kept me merrily enthralled. I quickly became addicted to the Professor.

The Theory of Attraction is a cute and quirky romance that satisfied my love of the nerdy hero. Ivan's intense focus on sex – and how to really make it good for Cami – was titillating. And Cami is the kind of heroine I love to read—confident but filled with self deprecating humor and a little bit nerdy herself. If you’re looking for a quick read with a socially awkward hero with a penchant for being bossy and demanding in the bedroom, definitely give this a try! You won’t be disappointed (Ivan will make sure of that).
