Review:
At sixteen, Sophie Williams gave her virginity to her boyfriend, Zach Barret, thinking she was in love. When Sophie runs into trouble, Ruger comes to Seattle and rescues her from a bad situation, then after seeing the way Sophie is living in squander, orders them to come home with him to his house in Idaho, located close to the MC. Sophie is not in any position to refuse Ruger and goes with him.
Now that Sophie is living in Ruger’s house, there is no way they can avoid the fiery hot chemistry that has always smoldered between them for years. They have always desired each other, but things are brittle and complicated between them, due to their painful history. These two are like oil and water. They don’t get along… But they care about one another… And want each other. They just don’t know how to be together.
Ruger wants Sophie to accept the MC life. But Sophie doesn’t want anything to do with his club. Ruger admits he wants Sophie but he’s not willing to give up his man-whoring ways and fully commit to her. Sophie will not be his doormat. She wants monogamy and commitment or nothing at all. And who could blame her? Though, she does vacillate between wanting to jump his bones and wanting to run far away from him. Even with her sexual cravings for Ruger, Sophie does continue to resist him, knowing she must protect Noah and her heart first.
“I think you’re a raging asshole.”
Ruger laughed. “Yeah, well I think you’re a bitch, but my cock likes you, so we’ll figure something out.”
Yes, Ruger’s a man-whore. Yes, he came across as selfish jerk when it came to commitment. And yes, he acted like a Neanderthal at times with no filter on his mouth. But good lord… I wanted that sexy alpha-hole to push me up against the wall and do dirty things to me. But there is more to Ruger than just being a tough biker. Ruger is Sophie and Noah’s rock. His unwavering devotion to them was admirable. And now that Sophie is living under his roof, and gotten under his skin, Ruger is forced to come to terms with his feelings for her - which he does… eventually.
“….You’re in my dreams every night. I wake up in the morning and all I think about is you in my house, you and Noah finally mine. My family. It’s even better than ridin’ my bike. I’m crazy for you, Soph.”
Reaper’s Legacy delivers an honest and straightforward look into the world of the Reaper’s MC, where it’s dark and gritty and they protect their own at all cost, which includes violence if necessary. Ruger and Sophie’s love story is not sweet and romantic but a tumultuous, wild ride of emotions. When Sophie and Ruger both quit battling it out and finally came to their senses, it was a sweet and endearing ending with a perfect epilogue. I love that we got a lot of page time with the couple from the first book (Horse!) and the other secondary characters – including some very sexy biker babes. This story also nicely sets up the plot for the third book, Devil’s Game. I can’t wait for Em’s book!
