Guest Post: Not Until You by Roni Loren

Not Until You Part I: Not Until You Dare by Roni Loren
InterMix (June 11, 2013)

From the author of the Loving on the Edge novels comes a story of a good girl who discovers that once you dare to cross some lines, it’s hard to turn back…

On the night of her graduation, innocent veterinary student Cela decides to play a game of Never Have I Ever with the two hot neighbors she’s been quietly crushing on for the last year. Always the prim and proper student, Cela thinks she’s earned a wild night before she has to move back home under the watchful gaze of her family. But what starts out as a simple game is about to take a very sensual turn...

Ian Foster is tired of playing games. With his membership to The Ranch, an exclusive BDSM resort, and a musician roommate named Pike who brings home groupies with a taste for ménage, Foster has a life most guys would kill for. But lately, his need for dominance is no longer satisfied via one-night stands. He craves the full surrender of one woman—a submissive of his own.

But when his quiet, sweet-as-sugar neighbor shows up at their door with a bottle of tequila and an invitation, Foster decides he and Pike may have time for one more fling…
*This will be an e-serial, releasing in 8 parts.

Part 1-5 are now available! Not Until You Dare, Not Until You Risk, Not Until You Crave, Not Until You Trust, and – out today! – Not Until You Beg.

The Top 5 Songs On My Playlist for NOT UNTIL YOU by Roni Loren!

One of the things that I must have when I write is music. I have a crazy, eclectic playlist of everything from 80s hair metal to Broadway to old school country. And what I listen to often depends on the book I’m writing. For instance, when I wrote FALL INTO YOU, I had a cowboy hero so I listened to way more country than I ever would in my normal day. But with this newest story, NOT UNTIL YOU, the music bag was even more mixed. So I thought I’d share the Top Five Songs that make me think of this book.

1. “Perfect” by Alanis Morrissette – Okay, I’ll readily admit, I was a huge Alanis fan back in the day, so I often find her songs fit the angst of my characters. “Perfect” really makes me think of my heroine, Cela, and her overprotective family. She’s just graduated from veterinary school and is trying to figure out what it means to be an adult on her own, but she still has a tremendous amount of pressure from her family. She’s expected to return home and join her father’s practice. But she’s got this pesky crush on a neighbor that’s making all her plans not look so great anymore. : ) Favorite lyrics: “Be a good girl. You've gotta try a little harder. That simply wasn't good enough. To make us proud.”

2. “Angel” by Aerosmith – This one is one of my favorite Aerosmith song and it makes me think of Foster, the hero in NOT UNTIL YOU. The line “Let’s break the walls between us” is perfect because Cela and Foster have been neighbors who have listened to each other through a shared wall. Also, he calls her Angel, so this one always makes me warm and fuzzy when it comes on.

3. “What the Hell” by Avril Lavigne – Cela has followed the rules all her life and this song is all about being young and breaking free of her former “good girl” status. So this one would be the soundtrack for the beginning of the book when she runs into her neighbors and they make her an offer. Favorite lyric: “All my life I’ve been good, but now, I’m thinking what the hell…”

4. “On My Own” from Les Miserables – This is one of my favorite, angst-filled songs of all time. There’s a scene in this story where Cela sings to Foster from the other side of the wall, but he can’t hear the lyrics, just the longing in her voice. This is the song I was thinking of when I wrote that scene. Favorite lyrics: “Without him I feel his arms around me And when I lose my way I close my eyes And he has found me”

5. “Pressed Against the Sky” by The Toadies – This is just a really sexy, romantic song and it makes me think of Cela and Foster in their best moments. If you’ve never listened to The Toadies, you’re missing out. ; ) Fave lyric: “Trace the curves of the sheets. A riddle of desire when I watch you sleeping.”

So those are my top five for NOT UNTIL YOU. For the next book, this list looks way different, which is the fun part. Each story has its own unique soundtrack and characters that would listen to different types of music.
