Synopsis:

Review:

Cassie Robichaud, now a graduate of S.E.C.R.E.T., has decided to remain with the organization and become a guide—like Matilda was for her. Since being with Will is out of the question, it makes the most sense. And she'd like to give back to the people that helped change her life so drastically for the better.

Which is how Cassie meets and recruits Dauphine, a redhead who has been put through the ringer by her cheating ex. Dauphine owns a cute retro clothing store and has spent the last few years burying herself in, and hiding behind, clothes. She can't even ask the cute lead singer of a local band out on a date, even though she's been crushing on him forever.

Cassie, Matilda, and the ladies go about changing that. Giving Dauphine confidence and her self image a much needed boost. Again—nine fantasies, nine men. I didn't feel as connected to Dauphine and her journey as I did with Cassie's. I can't say I disliked the alternating POVs, but... I would've liked the focus more, or solely, on Cassie. I didn't connect with Dauphine and her fantasies like I expected.

Truthfully, I wanted more Cassie and Will, less fantasies. We do get to see how much Cassie has grown, how much she's enjoying her new sexual freedom—and I loved that. I just wish there weren't constantly new obstacles popping up between Cassie and Will. I wanted more page time, period, with Will. He's my downtrodden, world weary, sexy in a carefree way, hero who needs some serious lovin’. I wanted Cassie to give him some lovin’, darn it!

And, again, just when you think, “Finally, this book has a hero! A love interest! Romance!”… It gets taken away. It's a strange form of literary torture. I just don't know. I enjoyed the story and, in all honesty, I flew through the pages. I guess I'm simply a sucker for a love story and, though I believe it will eventually – maybe, hopefully – have that... It hasn't yet.

S.E.C.R.E.T. Shared is a continuation of the journey Cassie started in S.E.C.R.E.T. We get to see her grow – blossom – into a powerful woman that isn’t afraid to go after what she wants. If only her journey in this installment had included more of my sweet, sweet Will. Especially since this ends in a cliffhanger, similar to the last book. I don’t want to wait to find out what happens next!
