Synopsis:

Review:

Natalie Porter, who was adopted as a baby, has been looking for her birth parents in Russia for the last few years. Wishing and hoping and working her tail off to afford to hire people to aid her in her search. All so she can meet the two people who created her. But Natalie forgot you should be careful what you wish for…

When Natalie meets a tattooed and scarred stranger at a bar, the first man to ever peak her interest, the first man to ever make her do more than shrug her shoulders and go “meh”, Natalie’s life as she knew it is over. She’d never be the corn fed farm girl going to school to get her PhD ever again.

"That's one hot piece of tackle--in a cage-fight/GQ model mash-up kind of way." Jess wasn't going to let this go. "Probably gets more ass than a toilet seat. But he got you to look twice, which makes him a rare and wondrous creature, this bar's very own unicorn. Requires closer investigation, don't you think?"

Because Aleksandr Sevastyan has been charged with bringing Natalie home - to her real home - in Russia. And if she won't go willingly, he's not afraid to force her. Which isn't exactly a hardship for this mafiya enforcer, since the man oozes dominance and control. Craves it. Wants it. Needs it. And Natalie makes him near mad for it.

As these two head to Russia and Natalie's new life, well, it is fraught with sexual tension. Simmering desire. Burning need. And it had me squirming in my seat and biting my lip. I knew Kresley could write ridiculously hot scenes (Lothaire, anyone?) but this was salacious. Forget drooling over Sevastyan, I was panting over him. Dear lord, Natalie is one seriously lucky chick. All that uber alphaness... the accent… swoon.

He rested his hand on the wall above my head, surrounding me with his heat. "When a woman singles me out"--he leaned down to murmur at my ear--"it's because she wants to get fucked. She looks at the scars and the tattoos and knows she'll get fucked hard."
I gasped, melting for him.
"Is that what you wanted of my, Natalya?"

But Sevastyan is nothing if not loyal. Loyal to Natalie's father. He may not be able to control himself all the time (thank goodness), but he does fight his lust tooth and nail. And what I love most about Natalie? She may ultimately want to submit to Sevastyan, but she's not going to just take whatever he decides to give her. She's got spunk and sass and she's willing to go after what she wants. And who in the heck wouldn't want Sevastyan?! But there are rules. Natalie has to decide if she's willing to follow some... and break the rest.

The Professional: Part One was a sublimely sexual feast for the senses. Every touch - every feeling - was palpable. Toe curling. Kresley Cole is a wicked genius with her words. This is erotica, no doubt about that, but it was also full of suspense and drama. A seriously titillating combination. I'm waiting with baited breath and stalled desire for the next installment.
